A Guide to Making a Profit Selling Online

Setting Up Shop

There are many way that people make extra income or even a full time living online - from affiliate marketing, writing blogs and perhaps most of all from re-selling goods.
Whether on sites like eBay or your own e-commerce operation, there are big opportunities to start a profitable and fast growing business online.
On this site I'm going to talk about some of the top ways to do just that - and also one of the key areas that you need to master if you are going to make a profit selling online; where to buy goods cheap enough and from reliable suppliers.
Finding a good and cheap supplier is most of the work done in many cases - as there are sites with thousands, even millions, of customers like eBay that you can just join and start selling on.

Reselling online works when you find the right suppliers

The three most popular ways of finding suppliers are:

1. To search on Google for things like "dog lead wholesalers" and contact each one individually, then try them out if you think they seem legitimate.

2. To join a directory of wholesalers and drop-shippers, like Worldwide Brands, Salehoo or DH Gate, and buy through them.

3. To join an integrated 'middleman' service that gets your products drop shipped directly - like Doba or Oberlo.

Which is the best method and why?

It depends what you are willing to invest - in time and money - but in my opinion options two and three are the best.  Wholesaler/drop shipper directories check each supplier carefully so you can buy from them knowing that you will not get scammed - something that you have no protection form looking for wholesalers on Google.

option three is by far the easiest and fastest, but it can also reduce your margins as you have to pay some hefty fees to the middleman.

I've reviewed some of the options in more detail on this site - starting with my Worldwide Brands review here.
